Good Morning,

I am returning to the hobby after 50 years away and boy has a lot changed since I was a teen and a scout. Studying now and will take Tech and General soon but right now trying to set up my station. In lieu of going with all new stuff I decided to stretch a bit and go used. After a ton of research, I purchased an incredible TS-570D. So far I have set up a little MFJ 30+ which was fun for SWLing. I have just installed an HOA Buster Gutter antenna. I have brand new gutters just installed and I have about 160 feet of them! In trying it out last night, I was able to listen to stations on 40 and 80 so I think it is going to be good. I know the TS-570D has an internal antenna tuner but with the numbers typically for a gutter antenna and in doing my research it seems like an external antenna tuner is the way to go. I am 70 and eyesight and dexterity is not what it used to be so I am mainly looking at an automatic that will interface with my Kenwood TS-570D and with that in mind and after research I was able to purchase in very good condition an LDG AT-200Pro along with a Kenwood AT-250.

I am looking for the computer interface cables for either or both. I am attaching a photo of the Kenwood 570D to Kenwood AT250 pin diagrams for the cable. I am also attaching a photo of the LDG Back, you can see it is a 1/8" stereo jack and needs to go to the Remote jack that is in the other photo. I would like to experiment with both.

When I do a search for the Kenwood to Kenwood Cable, this listing (eBay 153726073366) pops up but I want to be sure it is compatible. I attached a photo of my Kenwood ts-570D and I circled a 6 pin plug that is marked AT for Antenna Tuner and in doing my research it looks like this is the plug to control both the AT-250 and the LDG AT-200Pro, so it would make sense it I could find a cord with a similar 6 pin plug to a 1/8 stereo for the LDG AT-200Pro and also to the ACC plug on the back of the AT-250.Thanks for your help and quick response. Mark

I'd start with the LDG manual for the AT-200Pro. Unless it specifically mentions interfacing with Kenwood radios, and I don't think it does, you are probably not going to be able to make this work.

On the other hand, I did find the attached diagram in my files:

The LDG tuners emulate an Icom AH-4 tuner. This diagram implies that the tuner connector on Kenwood radios has the necessary signals to run an LDG tuner. But, I didn't find any compatible cables online, so you are probably going to have to make your own (or find someone to make it for you).

I did find this discussion in a Groups.io group, so it sounds like what you want to do is possible. Operation with LDG AT-1000ProII ATU.

You could save yourself some wiring hassle and just leave the internal tuner off and out of the loop and use the tune button on the LDG auto tuner and you're done. Switch bands or frequency hit the tune button on the tuner again. Either way you set it up you have to press one button to tune up.
