Parker County, TX November 05, 2024 Radio System Integration into NTIRN System Description Use or disclosure of this proposal is subject to the restrictions on the cover page. Motorola Solutions Page 4 Section 1 System Description 1.1 Introduction Motorola Solutions is pleased to provide this proposal to the Parker County to join the Parker County ASTRO radio system to the North Texas Interoperable Radio Network (NTIRN). The Parker County Core will operate as Zone 5 of the NTIRN system (system ID 044A). The following activities will be done to make this happen: 1. Set up microwave connectivity to the NTIRN core by constructing two microwave links a. Smith to Eagle Mountain b. Weatherford Lake to Rolling Hills 2. Reconfigure the Parker County Core as Zone 5 under System ID 044A and to connect with the NTIRN master site 3. Reconfigure the Parker County Simulcast Cell, Parker County ASR radio sites and Weatherford Simulcast Cell to operate as Zone 5 of System ID 044A 4. Reconfigure the Parker County Sheriff’s Office, Parker County Fire Alarm, Parker County EOC, Weatherford and Hospital District dispatch console sites to operate with the new system ID and zone number Parker Count is responsible for obtaining all Inter-Local Agreements (ILAs) or Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) required for connecting to the NTIRN system. Additionally, Parker County is responsible for obtaining all required permissions from the City of Fort Worth, or appropriate legal site owner, for installing equipment on tower sites not owned by Parker County. Microwave Addition Two microwave links are proposed to connect the Parker County system to the NTIRN system. These links are from the Smith site in Azle to the Fort Worth Eagle Mountain site and from the Weatherford Lake site to the Fort Worth Rolling Hills site. Two links will give Parker County redundant connections to NTIRN. The microwave path information is included on the following pages.

I believe their plan is to keep a single VHF site operating as 6EC that can be patched into 44A as needed for agencies needing to interop that can currently interop on VHF.

I wonder if they ever hooked the RX amplifiers back up and/or removed the RX attenuators on the VHF sites? This was done by the infinite wisdom of the shop that maintained (or use to at least to) them to alleviate illegal carrier alarms and/or interference.
