Good evening Forum from Sunny England,
Hope everyone is well - quick question as always !!!
Few years back I was lucky enough to find a book shop here in Cambridge, England that stocked both Popular Communications & Monitoring Times.
For a UK Scanner enthusiast AND a firefighter ( still) attached to a US Airforce Base here in the UK , they were great.
Sadly no longer in original format, I've only just come across National Communication Magazine...A good alternative/replacement? Or has it always been available same time as the other 2 ? Just dont recall hearing about it.
I believe it us still active, so do you think I should blow the cobwebs off of my wallet? Plus the English Pound against the US dollar is £1.00 = $1.30 !!!
Please let me know...
Thanks in advance,
Kevin USAF MILDENHALL, England.

Have you looked at The Spectrum Monitor? The editor, and many of the topic authors, are "Monitoring Times" alumni. It's not a 'printed' magazine. Instead, subscribers get a kink to download the current month's issue, which is in a *.pdf file.

Hi hiegtx,
Thankyou for your reply - yes is the answer !!!
Religiously download the pdf and utilise one if the large widescreen monitors here at the Fire Dept for best possible viewing !
My main reason for my post was that I'd never come across this magazine before and after Mon Times & Pop Com, I'm now wondering what I've been missing?
Really appreciate your reply & recommendation, thankyou.

Good morning from sunny Virginia,

The National Communication magazine National Communications Magazine | Chuck Gysi | N2DUP | Substack and Spectrum Monitor The Spectrum Monitor - Powered by Network Solutions. are both very informative and provide updated material.

If you are interested in past issues, try these sites:

Monitoring Times at MONITORING TIMES: DX SWL and Utilities hobbyist maghazine

Popular Communications at POPULAR COMMUNICATIONS: DX SWL and Utilities hobbyist maghazine

I have enjoyed cruising the past issues when time allows.

I always loved getting the monthly magazines here. Between the cost of overseas magazines and our local ones closing down, it has been years since I have purchased any.
