Using SDRTrunk to record multiple analog channels?

I have a list of 15 analog channels that I would like to record simultaneously over a few days. I've not worked with SDRTrunk much beyond 'live' monitoring a P25 system, but set up the channels in a new playlist, and enabled the only recording option available (Baseband I&Q). This records 100% of the time including all dead air.
Is there better way, or a better application to use, to record only when the squelch breaks? Thanks!

Yes. If all those freqs are within the dongles bandwidth and are FM, you can set them up as nbfm channels which involves assigning each a unique tgid and setting squelch. Then set listen to whatever but set record to on. (Not the same record you were using). Then download either Trunking Recorder or RDIO Scanner.

Thanks! Couple more questions -Is the tgid just something SDRTrunk needs for housekeeping (These are analog channels with CSQ)? And what's the purpose of the other applications?

The tgig is needed in conjunction with the play list to differentiate each channel.. The other two programs basically ingest recordings and offers a nice interface for playback.

Trunking Recorder is a Windows application for recording/importing audio from trunked radio systems monitored by Unitrunker, SDRTrunk, ProScan, or DSDPlus. Trunking Recorder will save all the recorded calls and allows searching and playback through a web browser. Trunking Recorder will also queue up recorded calls so you never miss any activity when multiple talkgroups are active at the same time.

Rdio Scanner is an open source software that ingest and distribute audio files generated by various software-defined radio recorders. Its interface tries to reproduce the user experience of a real police scanner, while adding its own touch.
