Will these two systems be able to talk to each other or have a common channel?
Denison had their swift water rescue team in Sherman today working on an accident where a family of six went off the highway and into the drainage system. The boat crews and Sherman dispatch were having lots of problems communicating with each other.
Honestly, other than the people involved with the implementation of the systems, most of us don't know yet.

Both systems have enough coverage that units from either agency will have decent service in a majority of the County.

Is a link between the two possible, yes. In Collin County, the PAWMCo and Frisco systems have a couple of talkgroups that patch between the two - one for FD mutual aid response between Plano and Frisco, the other for Prosper and Celina. Not sure if Frisco also has a connection with Denton County for mutual aid to Little Elm (I know that Frisco has a dedicated TAC channel for FD Mutual Aid, just not sure if there's an actual patch from that talkgroup to a talkgroup like PAWMCo has - I never mapped it out)

Of course, there's also the statewide simplex mutual aid channels as well for a Marconi level fallback, which most of their new radios will probably have programmed in their code plug.

Testing on this system today. TGRP's 13, 20, and 22. Heard some PD traffic on 601 but not sure if it's from this system or another, although I do have the NAC programmed in.

Denison is slowly coming online. Have been listening to the system all week from 4 south at TMC Denison and there is some life appearing to flow through the system.

TGID: 1 Encrypted Only RID 25 was ITC (This is probably DPD Dispatch)
TGID: 8 Encrypted
TGID: 13 Public Works (Possible water/sewer)
TGID: 16 Public Works (Discussion of recent storm damage and who is responsible for cleanup)
TGID: 32 Fire? (Sounded like Fire Chief 600 talking to dispatch though VERY informal)

I did not have Denison's VHF channels programmed to compare traffic with.

Couple intercepts on Denison Monday. TGID: 18 Traffic with Hillbilly subscribers blown away at the coverage while driving home. Its not Public Safety, those peeps don't talk like they did. They were a step above TxDOT employees however. One subscriber was full quieting from the Bonham Walmart, which is a good jog from Denison.

TGID:8 I'm pretty sure is Denison Fire Dispatch. Dispatch is full encrypted but Response wasn't a couple of times when they did the secondary Readback of the assigned call. Was encryption on the subscriber not set? No clue! I'd put casino money on the table that most of their traffic will be encrypted.

Submitted both updates.
